TEACHERS TO RALLY ON 5 AUGUST

The QTU will be organising a major rally outside Parliament House in Brisbane, next Wednesday, 5 August, at 4pm for a 4.30pm start. 

QTU organisers will arrange similar events in some provincial centres over the coming weeks.  Regional organisers will be informing schools of the details of rallies in their areas, as soon as they have been arranged. 

We must continue to send a message to the government that we will not be silenced!   

In the Brisbane and near Brisbane Areas (as well as in other centres when rallies/protests are planned) we are requesting principals:-

• to have no after-school meetings scheduled for 5 August;
• not to attend any other meetings  at this time and to discourage teachers from doing so;
• to facilitate members being able to leave as soon as possible at the finish of school on this day.

Your assistance will facilitate maximum attendance at the rally outside Parliament.
