15 November 2017: QTU members have a stark choice at this state election, and today’s announcement by the ALP of a major infrastructure package is an important second phase of the bid to rescue TAFE commenced in 2015.
The ALP has announced an election commitment of significant investment in TAFE training infrastructure, with up to $85 million over three years to rejuvenate and expand existing facilities. Under the policy announcement, each of the following campuses will receive significant essential infrastructure funding:
- Pimlico (Townsville) – $26 million
- Cairns – $15 million
- Toowoomba – $4 million
- Gold Coast – $15 million
- Redlands – $10 million
- Mount Gravatt (Brisbane) – $15 million.
The ALP have today demonstrated that they are willing to invest in TAFE: the training you can trust.
