EB8: TAFE Agreement Certified
Following yesterday’s hearing in the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC), the new certified agreement for TAFE Queensland Educators has been certified.
Thus the TAFE Queensland Educators Certified Agreement 2016 replaces the Department of Education, Training and Employment TAFE Educational Employees Certified Agreement 2012. Your non-teaching colleagues are covered in a separate agreement, the TAFE Queensland (TAFE Services Employees) Certified Agreement 2016.
Now that the agreement is certified by the QIRC the agreement formally takes effect, as does the modern award, the TAFE Queensland Award – State 2016.
TAFE Queensland advises that they are making the necessary payroll arrangements to process the pay increase and backpay as soon as possible.
The QTU will advise members when the increase and back payments (to July 1 2016) are likely to occur, once TAFE has confirmed the date. For more details, including a copy of the new TAFE Queensland Educators Certified Agreement 2016, visit www.qtu.asn.au
