Professional Reading Updates
In October 2010, the Queensland Teachers' Journal began a regular professional reading update with articles, books or websites of professional interest to teachers.
Links are provided below to the professional reading updates, most of the recommended readings are available from the QTU library.
Remember to keep a log of your professional reading for the purposes of QCoT CPD!
| Edition | Theme or topics |
| August 2011 | Educational journals of interest |
| July 2011 | Globalisation and education 2 |
| June 2011 | Globalisation and education |
| March 2011 | Women's achievements, innovation and creativity |
| February 2011 | Noel Pearson and Aboriginal Education - The Cape York Aboriginal Australian Academy was established at Aurukun and Coen in 2010 and expands to Hope Vale in 2011. While it has reservations about some aspects of the academy, the QTU recognises that current educational outcomes for many students in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities are not acceptable and therefore that it should engage positively with genuine attempts at reform. |
| November2010 | Assessing educational statistics - this time we look at some works that can help teachers sort through the ways that statistics are marshalled to support claims about education. All are accessible to readers with little or no statistical background. |
| October 2010 | Assessing educational reform - recent works on school reform in the US and UK systems which have provided the models for current educational reform in Australia |
