THE PROFESSIONAL AND INDUSTRIAL VOICE OF QUEENSLAND’S TEACHERS AND SCHOOL LEADERS IN STATE SCHOOLS AND TAFE FOR MORE THAN 135 YEARS.

From the General Secretary's desk, 16 September 2022

It’s the end of Term 3, which has been another busy and full term.

Holidays are a time for teachers and school leaders to disconnect from work and reconnect with family and friends.

We will be pausing our communications and social media over the coming holidays. We hope that this will help you to exercise your right to disconnect and get some rest. If anything urgent crops up that we need to inform you of, we will email you and place it on our website. Hopefully, this won’t be necessary.

Next term will see the government’s ballot on the new agreement, as well as the celebration of World Teachers’ Day.

The QTU continues to explore ways to address the teacher shortage with the department, the Queensland College of Teachers, the Queensland Government and universities. We will also continue to share examples of how schools have attempted to address workload issues.

Further work on the establishment of the review of the allocative model will also occur in Term 4.

We hope that you all enjoy time to relax, refresh and prepare for the last term of 2022.
