NAPLAN and NAPLAN online

The QTU has lifted the ban on the NAPLAN online test as the State Government has provided an assurance that no school will be disadvantaged by moving online. There has also been a commitment to take action arising from the findings of the State NAPLAN Review, which is currently embargoed, will be released by the State Government imminently. Once released, the report and the government response to the report, will be available below.

Members in schools will already be working to implement the QTU/DoE Joint Statement on NAPLAN released in October last year to ensure that the unintended consequences of NAPLAN testing, which may have a negative impact on the health and wellbeing of students and teachers, are minimised.

In determining to lift the NAPLAN online ban, the QTU will continue to campaign to bring about an end to NAPLAN testing in its current form. After ten long years of NAPLAN tests impacting on education and teacher and student wellbeing, we need a complete review of this national assessment program. Federal Labor has committed that, if elected, it will conduct a comprehensive national review of NAPLAN.
