Who is the AEU/AEU(Q)?
The Australian Education Union (AEU) is the federal education union representing educators working in public schools, early childhood education, and TAFE (Technical and Further Education) institutions across Australia. The AEU advocates for the industrial and professional rights of its members, including teachers, principals, and education support staff. It plays a key role in negotiating salaries, working conditions, and education policy, and is affiliated with the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) and Education International. The AEU operates through branches in each state and territory, working to promote equity in education and support the public education system nationwide. The AEU(Q) is the Queensland Branch. The AEU(Q) is a separate entity to the Queensland Teachers Union (QTU).
