Sandra Donnelly
Nominated by Whitsunday Branch
For almost four decades, Sandra Donnelly has been a committed QTU activist, always loyal and reliable, and highly respected by those she worked with.
Sandra attended her first branch meeting in 1982, and ever since has been a very loyal and regular participant at Whitsunday Branch meetings. But such was Sandra’s commitment that she also willingly traveled the 60 km from Proserpine to Bowen after school for meetings, as well as journeying out to Bowen to attend Labour Day marches.
She was not afraid to step up and take on responsibility within the branch structure too. Sandra was an efficient and reliable Secretary/Treasurer of the branch for many years and attended State Council and Conference meetings whenever the opportunity arose.
When it came to supporting branch activities, Sandra would always be there. She always volunteered to help with letter box drops, for example, and would be happy to take part in delegations bringing the views of QTU members to the attention of local Members of Parliament.
Above all, however, Sandra was a highly respected school Rep, going out of her way to offer any support and guidance her colleagues required.
Sandra Donnelly is truly deserving of the great honour of QTU Life Membership.
