Student Reporting

Myth – I have been told that student reporting requirements are decided at the school and regional level, not at the systemic level. What is the minimum state-wide reporting requirement?

Fact : Schools are required to provide a written report to parents at least twice a year, with many schools choosing to provide an interim report at the end of Term 1. Reporting at the end of Term 3 creates an additional workload for teachers, and as such, must be considered at the Local Consultative Committee.

Student achievement levels must be entered into One School.

No other data collection of student results is currently mandated and is up to the school to determine, through the usual consultative mechanisms set out in the Certified Agreement, what other types of student results teachers are expected to enter into One School.
