THE PROFESSIONAL AND INDUSTRIAL VOICE OF QUEENSLAND’S TEACHERS AND SCHOOL LEADERS IN STATE SCHOOLS AND TAFE FOR MORE THAN 130 YEARS.

Australian Teacher Workforce Data Survey

The Queensland College of Teachers is in the process of emailing teachers with details of the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) Australian Teacher Workforce Data (ATWD) Survey for 2022.

The QTU opposes the ATWD because it amounts to incremental workload creep and we encourage you to boycott it.

The survey asks teachers to invest time in completing the survey on behalf of AITSL, an organisation with no registered teachers. The authors of the ATWD fail to demonstrate respect for the time it takes for teachers to log on and complete the survey. There’s no payback for your time, and there is no empathy for the lack of reliability and connectivity issues that are a constant source of frustration for QTU members throughout the state. We also have ongoing and unresolved concerns regarding your privacy.

The QTU has a proud history of partnering with educational researchers in a range of research projects that will benefit our members and align with established QTU policy positions. This is not one of those instances.

Any QTU member with concerns about participation in a research project can contact QTAD on 1300 11 7823, contact the researchers at their host university, or the university’s research ethics board.
