PPCR update
Queensland Teachers' Journal, Vol 123 No 3, 13 April 2018, p25
The Promotional Positions Classification Review continues, and both the department and the QTU appreciate members taking the time to contribute to ensure high-quality outcomes can be achieved.
During term 2, the review team will be conducting focus groups within each region to assess with participants the issues identified relevant to each promotional position and examine potential options for a future promotional positions classification structure.
Upon the completion of this work, the review team will synthesise the available information and develop findings which will be presented to both the department and the QTU for consideration within the next round of enterprise bargaining negotiations.
While clearly a significant program of work, it is important to ensure the review is as thorough as possible, and the department and the Union would encourage all affected staff to actively engage with it in any way they can. It is only with your active participation that the best outcomes can be achieved.
In the previous Queensland Teachers’ Journal, Graham Moloney (QTU General Secretary) provided an overview of the JEMS review, jurisdictional benchmarking, and an overview of the review scope. The QTU, as partners in the review, will also be frequently releasing information on the progress of the review through our normal communication channels.
The QTU has a web page for the PPCR at www.qtu.asn.au/ppcr which is continually updated and provides information about the terms of reference, scope of the review and what occurred with regard to the review in 2017. The QTU submission to the review can also be accessed here.
