New look website launched
Queensland Teachers' Journal, Vol 123 No 6, 31 August 2018, page no. 6
The QTU is revamping its communication systems, putting you firmly in control!
Communication is at the heart of everything that the Union does – that’s why we have been working hard on developing a new suite of tools designed to keep you in the loop on the issues that matter most to you as a professional educator and QTU member.
The QTU website (www.qtu.asn.au) has been completely redesigned from the ground up with you in mind, and we hope you’ll agree that the new look is quite a step forward.
The new site uses much more powerful software than the one it replaces, and as a result can be used much more effectively on a wide range of devices, from PCs and laptops through to tablets and phones. The clean, modern layout has also been designed with ease of use as a priority.
The site’s search capacity has also been enhanced considerably. It is much more intuitive and effective than its predecessor, and you can now search for general topics, not just specific issues.
But we’re not stopping there. If you have a suggestion of how we can improve the new site, let us know. Just visit www.qtu.asn.au/web-feedback
Advances in technology since the previous version of the website was developed have also allowed us to give you greater control than ever before over how you connect with your Union.
Visit the “my communications” section of the myQTU member portal and you can now choose which QTU emails and newsletters to receive from the Union, unsubscribe from those you don’t want, choose to receive information on areas that you have a specific interest in, and choose whether to continue receiving a hard copy of the Queensland Teachers’ Journal through the mail or be emailed a link to an online version instead.
To get the most from your relationship with your Union, visit www.qtu.asn.au/myQTU and set your communication preferences now. Please note that any previously saved preferences have not been transferred to the new system and will need to be re-submitted.
