Today, as we start the first of our Maroon Mondays in support of our EB campaign, our minds are also turning to the resourcing of schools.
Tomorrow, you and more than 50,000 other QTU members will strike for 24 hours and attend rallies and
marches right across Queensland.
We are aware that the Department of Education has advised members that it has asked the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC) to assist in our bargaining negotiations for a replacement agreement. This process is called conciliation.
Notwithstanding your right to disconnect over the holiday period, we believe that it is of paramount importance to update you on the recent decisions of the QTU Biennial Conference, the QTU’s chief decisionmaking body, held in Brisbane last week.
