Dear QTU members,
Are you ready to make history?
Tomorrow, you and more than 50,000 other QTU members will strike for 24 hours and attend rallies and marches right across Queensland. We would like to welcome the over 2000 new members who joined the QTU in July. The support of all our members with these activities is critical!
Event locations here (https://www.qtu.asn.au/strike-day-2025).
After months of negotiations that have produced nothing but two underwhelming offers from the government, QTU members are ready to show just how united and serious we are about securing better salaries and conditions.

We have presented the issues we experience in our workplaces and initiatives needed to address these. |

We have bargained in good faith. |

We are done waiting. |
Please remember to wear maroon clothing, the proud Queensland colour of our campaign, and if possible, catch public transport to your nearest activity, to help facilitate a smooth event.
This is the first time in 16 years QTU members have taken 24-hour strike action. Your attendance tomorrow will be vital to securing everything we know teachers, students and Queensland state schools urgently need.
Don’t forget to talk to your colleagues, parents and friends about what we’re fighting to secure, print these posters (https://www.qtu.asn.au/eb11-selfie-posters), and share your photos (comms@qtu.asn.au) with the QTU. Together, we will write a new chapter in Queensland’s history books and remind the government just how valuable teachers and leaders are to education in our state schools.
Without us, who builds the future?
This campaign is powered by your unity. Let’s make it count.
In solidarity,
Kate Ruttiman Cresta Richardson
General Secretary President
