QTU members have identified a number of key issues impacting on workload and working conditions. Consequently the QTU thought it important that members have points of reference about those matters that are required as part of their roles as teachers and school leaders and those that may be exaggerated.
Welcome to the QTU Fact Checker.
Effective 5 October 2016 :The modern award Teaching in State Education Award - State 2016 has replaced the Teachers Award - State 2012, the Community Education Counsellors Award - State 2012, and the Community Teachers, Assistant Teachers - Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Community Schools Award - State 2012.
The DET State School Teachers’ CA 2016 was certified on 5 October 2016 and replaced the DETE State School Teachers' Certified Agreement 2012.
The QT has produced a number of Basic Guides, which, together with the QTU Brochures, Fact sheets and Fact Checker explain members' conditions, rights and responsibilities under the new award and certified agreement.
School leaders are often in the hot seat when it comes to having to interpret policies and procedures and apply them in their schools – often while receiving conflicting information from different parts of DET.
You can use the form below to directly email your question to the QTU, and receive a reply to your nominated email address.
If your question is one that other school leaders are asking, we will publish the question and answer on the QTU’s online fact checker – fully de-identified, of course.
