Labour Day 2016
The Labour Day Public Holiday is back in May, where it belongs.
Join the QTU and bring your family along to celebrate Labour Day’s homecoming with your friends and colleagues.
Queensland teachers – Proud of our profession
The Queensland Teachers’ Union has a long and proud history dating back to 1889 – celebrating Labour Day with your union is a great way to celebrate our achievements and those of the wider Labour movement.
With Labour Day reaching its 125th birthday in 2016, there’s bound to be a real party atmosphere. So come along, share the fun, socialise with colleagues and show the world how proud you are of your union and your profession as we enter formal EB8 negotiations with the Queensland government and head closer to a federal election, where education funding will be a key issue.

QTU stands in solidarity
The Queensland Teachers’ Union wishes to express its shock at the killing of 17 people at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, and stands in solidarity with the many brave teachers who risked their own lives to protect the students in their care.
These horrific events reveal the deep commitment and bravery of members of our profession under the most extreme of circumstances, and we are proud to stand with them at this terrible time.QTU, 16 Feb 2018
