The Queensland Teachers' Education Centre (QTEC) is responsible for the coordination, planning and delivery of the Union's member education and training program.

The Union offers a range of information sessions, courses and conferences to Union Reps and activists to support them in their role and to assist them to become more knowledgeable, active and effective representatives of the QTU in the workplace.

The QTU, through QTEC (Queensland Teachers Education Centre) has introduced live online training to its education and training program for QTU reps and activists.

These training sessions are conducted live from the Brisbane office to all regional areas of Queensland. Click on the title to view the training in the following areas :

These training sessions are an addition to the current QTEC training program and will not replace face to face training. The union values the role union reps and activists have at the workplace and understands the pressure of being unable to attend major centres to attend training due to remoteness and in metropolitan areas, time constraints around travelling to QTU venues in traffic congestion. At this stage, the training is being offered to activists in regional areas only however it is planned to expand the program in the near future to include metropolitan activists.

This live training online enables members and activists to participate in an interactive forum to receive information and training and to ask questions about the role of the union rep, legal issues for principals, the role of QTU nominees on Promotion Panels, recruiting new members and to ask questions and make contact with other members and union officers.

The live online training is conducted by experienced Union officers from Brisbane and country areas and allows for a question and answer session and an address from a senior officer of the Union on current issues.

This training is hosted by the TLN (Teacher Learning Network) who provide support for any difficulties logging into the training and throughout the session.
