QTU memberworkload survey
The QTU member workload survey is currently being conducted by ACER.
The survey was sent to members on Tuesday 9 October. If you are a member and did not receive an email invitation from ACER, it may because we did not have your email address. If you did not receive a copy of the survey and are interested in completing it, please forward you name, membership number and email address to the QTU (email@example.com). We will forward it to ACER, which will send you an email with a unique link to the survey.
The survey will take between 15-20 minutes to complete.
It is vital that as many members as possible fully complete the survey so that the researchers have a more comprehensive picture of member workload and wellbeing.
Completing the survey could be the first action you take during the QTU’s WWAM (Workload, Wellbeing and Assertiveness Month).
A reminder email was sent to those members who had not yet completed or not fully completed the survey on Wednesday 17 October. While this email stated that the closing date for the survey is 4 November, the survey will actually close on 10 November.
Australian Unions survey on sexual harrassment in Australian Workplaces
The Human Rights Commission estimates one in three people in the last five years have experienced sexual harassment at work.
Everyone should be able to go to work in a safe environment, free of harassment. To achieve this we need to keep exposing what’s happening in workplaces so our lawmakers get the full picture.
The Human Rights Commission inquiry into sexual harassment in Australian workplaces will shine much needed light on a broken system which is failing workers.
We need new approaches to this endemic problem and to change the rules in this area.
Australian Unions will make a submission to the sexual harassment inquiry on behalf of all working people, and we need to hear from you and your workmates so that we can include as many real life experiences as possible.
Take our survey now: www.australianunions.org.au/shsurvey - the survey closes on 1 November 2018.
If you have personally experienced or witnessed sexual harassment at work, we want to hear from you.
Your personal details will be kept completely confidential and we won’t include your story in our submission without contacting you.
Once you have completed the survey, ask your workmates to do it too. It takes less than 10 minutes and the information you share will help us present a fuller picture of what is happening in our workplaces every day.
Sexual harassment at work needs to stop, and it needs to stop with us.
Diabetes Online Risk Assessment Project
Diabetes is currently the biggest challenge confronting the Australian health system, increasing at the rate of one new diagnosis every 5 minutes. Around 1.7 million Australians have diabetes as well as an estimated 500,000 more who are currently undiagnosed.
The Diabetes Online Risk Assessment (DORA) Project is currently being conducted by researchers at Central Queensland University, Rockhampton. This study aims to:
- raise awareness of an individual’s risk of Type 2 Diabetes,
- understand what types of health messages people like to receive, and
- understand how useful these messages are in prompting people to take follow-up actions.
This project is being promoted Australia-wide to encourage individuals in all metropolitan and regional areas to raise awareness of Type 2 Diabetes and to encourage follow-up action after an individual risk rating. The outcomes from this study may impact how health authorities provide health messages to individuals and groups in the future to encourage them to take positive action to improve health outcomes.
Who is eligible to participate?
To be eligible participants must:
- be aged 35 years or over
- not have been diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 diabetes previously
- live in Australia
What is required of participants?
Participants will be required to complete three online surveys over a period of approximately 3 to 4 months. Each survey will take approximately 20-25 minutes to complete. Participants will receive $40.00 shopping vouchers after completing all surveys.
Anyone interested in participating may click the study link below. This will direct you to the DORA Project website to read more about the study and check eligibility.
