TAFE Queensland Educators Certified Agreement 2019
The new TAFE educators agreement was certified on Friday 31 January. At the same time, the previous 2016 agreement was rescinded.
A copy of the TAFE Queensland Educators Certified Agreement 2019 (CA) can be found here. As at the date of certification, the working conditions described within the 2019 document apply to all educators in TAFE Queensland covered by the agreement.
Be aware that the new agreement must still be read in conjunction with the TAFE Queensland Award - State 2016 and that the CA prevails in the event of inconsistency.
The QTU congratulates members on the action and hard work taken to achieve this outcome.
Implementation of the new CA has begun, with the commencement of the temporary to permanent process review and the successful conversion of many temporary contract educators to permanent positions across the state.
The table below outlines, region by region, the results of the review to date.
The TQB conversions are in review following a meeting on 12 December.
Given the new process is to be conducted quarterly, regions will now be working towards review of contract incumbents who have been employed for two years as of the end of first quarter 2020.
