THE PROFESSIONAL AND INDUSTRIAL VOICE OF QUEENSLAND’S TEACHERS AND SCHOOL LEADERS IN STATE SCHOOLS AND TAFE FOR MORE THAN 130 YEARS.
One hundred and thirty years from its creation, the QTU has developed and renews itself as a powerful voice for teachers and principals on both professional and industrial issues, and for public education and its students.
Pull-out EB9 poster
During EB campaigns, we hear a lot of statements like: “I’m not worried about salary, I’ll be happy if you do something about …”. Why does this become the refrain?
The Promotional Positions Classification Review is not just about principal salaries and their classification. The new structure will also establish a new benchmark for heads of program (HoCs, HODs, HOSES, GOs, etc) and deputy principals.
The recently published salaries of grammar school principals demonstrate that when it comes to salaries, valuing the role of school leaders in the state sector lags behind the independent sector.
I want to thank the QTU members and community members who supported and participated in the three campaigns that the QTU supported in the recent federal election.
