WAC submissions open
Queensland Teachers' Journal, Vol 125 No 5, 10 July 2020, page no.11
The Workload Advisory Council (WAC) submissions process opened on 22 June and will close in Week 6 of Term 3.
The WAC was set up as a result of the EB9 negotiations, during which the QTU insisted that the Department of Education establish a mechanism to reduce teacher and school leader workload. Establishing the council was one of the final concessions made by the department.
Its functions include collecting information about issues contributing to workload pressures and informing workload reduction initiatives.
The QTU has prepared resources to support members in making a submission to the WAC. The “QTU guide to making a WAC submission” can be downloaded from https://www.qtu.asn.au/workload-advisory-council
For further information on the QTU’s work with the WAC, members can contact QTAD on 1300 11 7823, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
