2020 QTU Union Reps Conference
Queensland Teachers' Journal, Vol 125 No 2, 20 March 2020, page no.18

Friday 6 March saw the annual QTU Union Representative Conference held at the Brisbane Exhibition and Convention Centre.
More than 350 delegates attended an action-packed day of information sharing and practical application. Presentations from QTU President Kevin Bates, General Secretary Graham Moloney, Deputy General Secretary Kate Ruttiman, Acting Deputy General Secretary Lynn Cowie-McAlister and lawyer Rachel Drew from Holding/Redlich ensured delegates were kept up to speed on the latest legal trends, workload reduction strategies and EB implementation.
The amazing work of school Union Representatives ensures the on-going success of the Queensland Teachers’ Union. This conference is an opportunity for delegates to become even more informed, develop strategy, share examples of best practice, challenge themselves and network with an amazing group of like-minded people.
If you haven’t attended this conference before, keep your eyes open for the 2021 conference which will be advertised later this year. The feedback from this annual event is always overwhelmingly positive. I encourage you to come along and engage with your Union.
A regional Union Reps Conference will be held later in the year.
