Back pay

The QTU has been advised by the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC) that the proposed agreement should be certified on 19 November.

As soon as the Union was advised of this date, we wrote to the department to clarify how back pay for the salary increase will be processed.

The agreement states that it will occur in the most practical pay cycle following the certification. However, this is generally the pay cycle during which you would normally be paid your holiday leave loading, and the QTU is seeking to keep the payments separate. The Union has therefore suggested that administrative work should be occurring now to ensure that you receive the back-payment on 20 November instead.

The QTU will advise members when we know with certainty when the salary increase and back pay will be paid.
