Labour Day

Labour Day celebrations are part of an important tradition that reflects the union movement’s commitment to social justice and workers’ rights.

We march to celebrate the contributions that workers make to society and to raise awareness of the ongoing struggles that our diverse members face. We march in solidarity on a day filled with comradery, laughter and spirit. 

This Labour Day, if you’re heading along to a march, bring a friend, relative or colleague, so we can make it a huge public celebration that shows the strength and commitment of our union movement.

Barcaldine

10.00am, Monday 6 May

March followed by family fun day. Assemble Barcaldine Showgrounds, finishes at Australian Workers Heritage Centre.

Blackwater

Please assemble at 10.00am, Riverside Parklands, Quay St, Bundaberg. The parade will start at 10.30am to the Bundaberg Bowls Club for a family funday.

Cairns

9.00am, Monday 6 May

March followed by family fun activitie Assemble from 9am for 10am at Fig Tree Park on the Esplanade, (near Hemmingways Brewery) at Wharf One, Cairns.

Gladstone

9.30am, Sunday 5 May

March followed by free food and drinks. Assemble 9.30am at Gladstone Regional Council car park, 58 Central Lane. Parade starts at 10am and concludes at 11am at Area ‘D’ Gladstone Marina.

Gold Coast

10.00am, Sunday 5 May

Join us for a Family Fun Day from 11:00am at Pratten Park, Old Burleigh Road, Broadbeach. Food, drinks, kid’s rides, face painting and live music.
