March4Justice

Women's March 4 Justice
The QTU stands with the Queensland Council of Unions to demand that sexual harassment in Australian workplaces cease and the recommendations of the Respect@ Work be adopted by our governments.

About March4Justice

March4Justice has been established by the women of Australia to protest the Australian Parliament's ongoing abuse and discrimination of women in Australia. It is our intention to amass our anger and our resources to march on Parliament to voice our anger at the Parliament's ongoing arrogance in relation to their voices and rights to equality in Australia.

We begin with this march, this is the first step, March 4 Justice will not end, we will be heard, we will make a change. We March 4 Justice, we march peacefully, we march united

In 2020 the Australian Human Rights Commission released their report of the National Inquiry into Sexual Harassment in Australian Workplaces. The Government is yet to respond to the report or any of the 55 recommendations.

Community call to action

We want 4 actions immediately:

  • Full independent investigations into all cases of gendered violence and timely referrals to appropriate authorities. Full public accountability for findings.
  • Fully implement the 55 recommendations in the Australian Human Rights Commission’s Respect@Work report of the National Inquiry into Sexual Harassment in Australian Workplaces 2020.
  • Lift public funding for gendered violence prevention to world’s best practice.
  • The enactment of a federal Gender Equality Act to promote gender equality. It should include a gender equity audit of Parliamentary practices.

What we can do to help

Organise women members in support of the March 4 Justice and raise awareness around the issues in education with a focus on:

  • AHRC Respect at Work Report
  • Recommendations for the AEU Submission to the National Inquiry into Sexual Harassment in Australian Workplaces
