HAT and Lead Teacher certification in 2021
The Expression of Intent (EOI) to apply for Highly Accomplished Teacher (HAT) and Lead Teacher (LT) certification in 2021 is open from 7-24 August 2020 for teachers in Queensland state schools.
Recognition and professional certification of expert teaching encourages teachers to engage in a process aimed at developing collaborative and reflective learning professionals who strive to improve practice.
This EOI will enable the department to ascertain applicant numbers prior to 2021 and determine applicant eligibility for one Teacher Relief Scheme (TRS) day to support preparation of a portfolio.
The EOI is open until 24 August 2020.
To submit an EOI application please visit OnePortal – search HAT and LT.
A reminder that completion of the new HAT and LT Certification Process for Applicants Online Modules is mandatory for all teachers who intend to apply to the Queensland College of Teachers for HAT or LT certification from 2021 onwards. The course supports applicants to understand the requirements of the certification process and is a key resource while they undertake their certification journey. Register via the Learning Place.
To receive the latest HAT and LT information and notifications about upcoming events please subscribe to the HAT and LT mailing list.
The QTU is offering free training for members considering applying for HAT and Lead Teacher. This training complements the Department's workshops. Click here for the QuEST program.
