Biography
Dr Anna Hogan is an ARC DECRA research fellow in the School of Teacher Education and Leadership. Anna graduated with first class honours from the BApSc(HMS)(Edu) program at the University of Queensland in 2008. Subsequently, she completed a Masters of Educational Studies majoring in Public Education while teaching at a number of Brisbane secondary schools. Anna completed her PhD at the University of Queensland, which was supervised by Professor Bob Lingard and awarded in 2015. Anna's research interests broadly focus on education policy and practice. Specifically, she investigates the privatisation and commercialisation of schooling. She currently works on a number of research projects, including: philanthropy in Australian public schooling (ARC DE210100994), teacher work intensification and the role of commercial 'time saving' devices (ARC LP190101301), the privatisation of global school provision (ARC DP170103647), the privatisation of English language learning (Hong Kong Research Council), and the role of commercial edtech in schooling and Higher Education in the post-Covid world (Education International). She has published widely on these topics and has worked closely with school systems and teachers' unions in relation to these issues, including Education International, the Australian Education Union, and the Queensland Teachers Union. Anna is Associate Editor of Critical Studies in Education.Personal details
