Join members and colleagues at the QTU EB9 campaign launch.
|Speakers Corner, Outside Parliament House (where the Queensland Parliament is sitting) Cnr of George and Alice Street, Brisbane|
At gatherings across the state in schools, QTU offices or other areas as organised by QTU Reps and Organisers (for more information check your regional flyer).
Interact with the Brisbane rally by sending messages of support (details coming soon).
Hear about the four priority areas:
- a new classification structure and salaries for promotional positions informed by the Promotional Positions Classification Review (PPCR)
- gender employment equity
The rally will also give you the chance to hear about the ongoing delegations of QTU members to Members of Parliament.
If you have any burning questions about EB9, the claim, negotiations or the campaign, you are encouraged to send them to the EB email address – EBquestions@qtu.asn.au.
The current enterprise bargaining agreement, the eighth since 1994, expires on 1 July. Formal negotiations for a new agreement are to commence on 1 April.
The QTU spent five months in 2018 consulting members in a variety of ways and developing a log (or list) of claims. The Union’s log of claims for EB9 was endorsed by the QTU State Council – 120 elected teachers and principals from around the state – in November 2018.
The claim was sent to the department in January this year, well before the start of formal negotiations, to avoid hold-ups and delays. Requests for information about gender employment equity claims and the finalisation of PPCR were made last year for the same reason.
Let’s start EB9 negotiations with a bang! Join the campaign launch in person or in the regions.
