QTU commences bargaining for a replacement certified agreement
On Thursday, 23 March, officers of the QTU commenced formal negotiations with TAFE Queensland for a replacement certified agreement.
The first meeting of the single bargaining unit was a procedural meeting. The QTU committed to good faith bargaining as defined in section 173 of the Industrial Relations Act 2016, and we provided TAFE Queensland with a our log of claims.
The QTU enters the negotiations after six months of a comprehensive Listening Tour with our members and branches throughout the state. Our member consultation supported QTU TAFE Council delegates endorsing our log of claims at its meeting on 18 March. Our log of claims is available as a member-only document on the QTU website.
The collective voice of QTU members employed as TAFE Educators throughout Queensland grows louder with each new member. If you have a colleague who is not yet a member of the QTU, let them know that the power of solidarity is vital in EB negotiations. Click here to join online.
