Michelle is a special education teacher and an active member of the QTU since the early 1980s.
She was involved in the Union’s Campaign Action Group, as well as in the Gonski campaign for fair school funding, Your Rights at Work, and state and federal election and teacher accommodation campaigns. Having worked across Queensland, Michelle held numerous honorary positions across many branches of the QTU, including branch President and Lead Union Rep, and she was an active voice on State Council from the late 1980s.
Michelle was well respected in all parts of the QTU, and in particular played a key role in Union activism in the Gladstone area, proudly standing up for her fellow QTU members and state school students, even in the face of adversity.
