Support at formal meetings - 6 June 2018

Workload Wednesday

Support at meetings

Teachers and principals meeting formally with administration to discuss performance issues or changes that may impact on them can ask a Union Representative to attend in support.

The member should be given advanced notice of the meeting and its purpose, and should also be advised that they may be accompanied by a Union Rep or other support person at the meeting. However, the department is not obliged to allow multiple support people.

The support person is not an advocate but an observer who ensures that the member is treated fairly and is able to reflect on the discussion for future reference.
