THE PROFESSIONAL AND INDUSTRIAL VOICE OF QUEENSLAND’S TEACHERS AND SCHOOL LEADERS IN STATE SCHOOLS AND TAFE FOR MORE THAN 130 YEARS.

Go Home on Time Day - 17 November 2021

Today is the 13th annual Go Home On Time Day. This is an initiative of the Centre for Future Work that we are proud to support.

Every one of our members understands the impact of workload creep has had on our lives over the past two decades. We know finishing on time one day won’t resolve teacher’s workload challenges, but it is an opportunity to assert professional autonomy and to keep the momentum in acknowledging the work teachers and school leaders do.

What does “on time” mean for teachers? The standard hours of instruction in schools fall between 8.30am and 3.30pm. Any changes to these hours of instruction must occur in accordance with the provisions of clause 15.8 of the Teaching in State Education Award - State 2016.

Go on, go home on time, today!
