World Teachers Day - Australia
This year, World Teachers Day will be celebrated in Australia on Friday 30 October. Internationally it is held on 5 October, however, as this is usually during our school holidays, Australia celebrates the day on the last Friday in October. #ThankQldTeachers

World Teachers Day - Internationally
World Teachers’ Day 2020 will mark the 72nd anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948) that recognizes education as a key fundamental right and establishes an entitlement to free compulsory education, ensuring inclusive and equitable access for all children.
In 2020, World Teachers’ Day will celebrate the many diverse faces of teaching across our state. From the cape to the coast, from the reef to the ranges – our amazing Queensland teachers go above and beyond for our students each and every day.
Held annually on 5 October since 1994, World Teachers’ Day commemorates the anniversary of the signing of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers. It is co-convened in partnership with UNICEF, UNDP, the International Labour Organization, and Education International.
