The Conference theme for 2018 is Rise, Resist and Repeat

The conference focuses on being a union activist and feminist issues impacting our students, our colleagues and the wider community. 

Please note closing dates for registration and travel/accommodation requests.

Monday 2 July 2018 from 8.30am to approximately 4pm .

The program will be followed by post-conference drinks and nibbles at the Plough Inn, please select this function when registering on-line for the event.

A stand-up networking lunch will be provided as part of the conference program

We will hear from ACTU Campaign Coordinator Kara Keys, AEU Federal Women’s officer Olivia Brown, the department’s culture and engagement project officer focussing on LGBTIQ+ matters, Tegan Acton and Inari Saltau from One Woman Project.

QTU Vice-President Sam Pidgeon and Deputy General Secretary Kate Ruttiman will provide members with updates on the current campaigns and industrial matters

Please note that as this conference is very popular, spaces may fill quickly and therefore registrations may close earlier than 15 June.

Soon after registration closes, you will be sent a confirmation email which will include location and car parking details

The social function on Sunday 1 July is now closed due to sufficient numbers but should anyone still be interested, please email services@qtu.asn.au to go onto a waiting list.

QTU Travel Policy – 4.3. Travel

4.3.1. Members should travel by the most economical means of transport, provided that it is suitable and convenient.
4.3.2. If members do not travel by the most economical means of transport, they will receive an allowance for the cost of transport equal to the amount incurred had they travelled by the most economical means.
4.3.3. If members travel by air, they will receive an allowance for transport costs equal to the actual airfare paid or the cost of an economy airfare, whichever is the lesser.


 The QTU will fund travel for all delegates accepted to attend the conference, and will provide accommodation for those participants who live more than 75km from the conference venue.
