Joint QTU/QIEU Submission to the DETE review of Education (Queensland College of Teachers) Act 2005
The Queensland Teachers Union (QTU) and Queensland Independent Education Union (QIEU) welcomed the opportunity to provide feedback to the Department of Education, Employment and Training regarding the Education (Queensland College of Teachers) Act 2005, in September 2014.
Both the QTU and the QIEU currently have representatives on the governing body of the Queensland College of Teachers and the following feedback will show that any change to the governance structures of the QCT that results in the board not having a majority of practicing teachers, and excludes key representative organisations such as unions, is strongly rejected.
The submission was forwarded to the Department of Education, Training and Employment in September 2014.
