Enterprise bargaining consultation is crucial for fostering a collaborative environment where members can voice matters which will improve teaching conditions and remuneration outcomes.
It’s an opportunity to address outstanding issues, ensure fairness, and align members' goals with outcomes achieved through the bargaining process. Keeping the lines of communication open throughout this process is key to achieving positive outcomes for the organisation as a whole.
So, how’s the process been going so far?
Individuals, sub-branches, branches, area councils, interest groups, and committees have all contributed to the consultation process.
Active participation is essential in any consultation process. By engaging and contributing your views, you ensure that your perspective is considered and that your interests are represented. It’s not just about having a voice; it’s about shaping the outcomes and decisions that affect every teacher and school leader on staff. By actively participating, you can help influence the direction of negotiations, highlight any concerns or priorities you have, and ultimately contribute to the development of fair agreements.
Now the initial consultation process is complete, it’s important for everyone involved to be aware of forthcoming key dates and deadlines. Executive will provide a prima facie view in relation to the relevant interests on 8 July, and State Council on 10 August will be the ultimate decision maker regarding the log of claims. Senior Officers will seek commitments from the government and opposition after August Council directly relating to the log of claims and relevant interests of members.
