QTU Peace & Equity awards
Queensland Teachers' Journal, Vol 131 No 1, 20 February 2026, page no 10&11.
Since 1990, the QTU has proudly been running the Peace and Equity Awards in Queensland state schools.
Over the years, the rules of this annual statewide art competition have remained the same: Create an artwork influenced by the United Nations’ Day of Peace theme. Each year, the QTU encourages members to engage with their students on their entries.
In 2025, the theme was “Act now for a peaceful world”. We received countless submissions from across the state. Each artwork was admired and appreciated for the effort, thought and creativity demonstrated by its young artist.
