The QTU is proud to host the 2025 Dr Evelyn Scott Memorial Lecture and warmly invites you to join us.

The Dr Evelyn Scott Memorial Lecture aims to bring people together and to call First Nations Peoples and non- Indigenous peoples to action in the pursuit of justice.

This year’s lecture, which takes place on Sunday, 29 June, is being given by Proud Goa-Gunggari-Wakka Wakka Murri woman Leah Purcell AM (pictured), an internationally acclaimed actor, director, producer and writer for stage and screen.

The event takes place at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre’s Sky Annexe, on the corner of Merivale & Glenelg Streets, South Bank, Brisbane.

Doors open at 3:30pm for a 4pm start, and the event is due to close by 6:00pm.

If you are interested in attending, it is essential that your RSVP is received by 3pm on Friday 20 June. Send your RSVP to services@qtu.asn.au including your first and last name.

The lecture is named in honour of Dr Evelyn Scott, an activist and campaigner for First Nations rights and social justice. Reconciliation Australia describes Dr Evelyn Scott’s enormous contribution to political activism as “fierce yet dignified leadership.”
