Term 2, 2022
Roselynne Anderson QTU Scholarship
In August 2021, QTU Life Member Roselynne Anderson passed away suddenly following an unexpected illness.
The QTU has introduced the Roselynne Anderson QTU Scholarship in 2022 and up to three members will be awarded up to $1500 to pursue further professional development, training or further tertiary education relevant to special education, school leadership or women in education.
Further information about the scholarship and the application form is available on the QTU website.
Student with disability (SWD) staffing review
At the time of writing, the department had not released the alternative SWD staffing model for 2023. It is anticipated this will occur early this term. The QTU continues to discuss a range of issues with the department associated with a new model including ensuring schools are not disadvantaged in any transition to a new model and that there is no workload increase for members arising from the new model.
Members should follow the advice in the department’s 2022 transition arrangements document which is available on the QTU website.
Members should not implement school-specific processes or strategies to layer onto NCCD to replace EAP/verification. Members who believe NCCD processes at their school in 2022 are more workload intensive should contact the QTU.
