QTAD is a help-desk to assist members with simple, quick advice over the phone or via email in relation to pay, leave and other general working conditions.

There may be occasions where Officers working in QTAD will be able to assist with more complex matters. Where particular expertise or further information is required, members will be referred to the appropriate Officer of the Union.

About QTAD

Who works there?

QTAD has a team of five information support officers: Alicia Stephenson (Coordinator), Aly Coulter, Crystal Chapman, Daniel Tudor and Nicola Waters.

QTU Officers and Organisers are also rostered in QTAD  to provide additional support for member enquiries of a more complex nature.

How can QTAD help me?

QTAD staff are trained to answer a range of frequently asked questions by members and activists.

Topics queried may include:

  • Playground Duty
  • Non-contact Time
  • Specialist Teacher Circuits
  • Hours of Duty
  • Pay levels and increments
  • Summer Vacation Pay
  • Leave Entitlements (eg parental leave, long service leave, etc)
  • Contract and Supply Teachers
  • WorkCover, WH&S, Rehabilitation.
     

Is QTAD able to provide written information?

QTAD staff can also send information by email, by post, or fax to members at their home or workplace.

This information may include:

  • QTU Information, Legal and Advice Brochures (TAFE and Schools)
  • EQ Forms and Memos (only those provided by EQ)
  • Useful Website Addresses
  • EQ Policies and Procedures
  • Ministerial Directives
  • Teachers’ Awards - TAFE and classroom etc.
  • Teachers' certified agreements (TAFE and Schools).
